Can you paint over a acrylic painted canvas which has already been varnished?

the first layer of varnish i applied to my acrylic painting came out foggy :( can i apply acrylic paint over the foggy parts then revarnish? or is it better to try to remove the foggy varnish?Can you paint over a acrylic painted canvas which has already been varnished?
if you need to, go over it with gesso and re-start. It sucks to do that but sometimes you need to do that. I have done that countless times.Can you paint over a acrylic painted canvas which has already been varnished?
what you probably did is that you over brushed the acrylic varnish and thats what caused it to be foggy. just rough up the canvas a little with a medium grit sandpaper to give it some tooth. then you can paint over it to retouch the foggy areas. then re varnish it but be sure not to brush it too much or the same thing will happen again.
