Getting paint off a stained and varnished door?

Any tips on how to get solvent-based paint off a varnished door? It's only some small smudges - not the whole door.(Obviously I'm trying to get the paint off without damaging the the varnish!)Getting paint off a stained and varnished door?
try nail varnish remover on a clean cloth.Getting paint off a stained and varnished door?
Heat the area with a hair dryer (Not a Hot air gun)

Use a credit card to scrape of the paint. Start in a corner of the stain. Once you've got it warm enough it should peel off easy.

Do not use anything solvent based - like nail varnish.

Edit - If there's a mark left afterwards, polish vigourously with a mild cutting agent like T Cut (For Cars) or Brasso. Then polish with a clean dry cloth

Good luck

The best way is to use a paint or varnish to remover to soften the painted surface. Then the old paint can be scraped off and wash away with water.
Get a double ot (OO) steel wool. I use it to get paint spots off maple flooring after painting and it does not affect the finish.
