If someone did something REALLY stupid

like spray a pearly varnish spray on an oil painting, and then regret it because it looks hideous, is there any way of removing? Tried nail varnish remover (acetone) to no avail. No teasing me, was trying something and now wish I hadn't.If someone did something REALLY stupid like spray a pearly varnish spray on an oil painting, and then regret i?
Look on the label of your varnish spray and see if the company has a website. They may be able to suggest methods either on their website FAQ or through their contact email.

If you are not successful, figure that you learned something new through this experiment and learning something new is always a good thing. If someone did something REALLY stupid like spray a pearly varnish spray on an oil painting, and then regret i?
If the varnish is not oil or petroleum based, you might try warm water. Wet a cloth, and leave it a few minutes then dub it with a dry cloth (try a small area) Not every varnish will stick permanently to oil paint.
