Can I paint with oil paint over a layer of oil varnish?

I just finish a painting with a layering of a diferent kinds of materials in the following order - acryl base, acryl paint, oil varnish- and I am planing in continuing the process with oil paint. The problem is that I have never paint before with oil over oil varnish, I have not idea if it will stick. the oil varnish is the same kind that is use for wood floor. Can I paint with oil paint over a layer of oil varnish?
Think about it , you should not use any varnish that is not archival quality because it will yellow over time. You can paint over any surface you want but remember if the painting will be in need of repair or cleaning it will be impossible to do that.

It depends on the drying time of the varnish.

It actually takes oil-based vehicles longer to dry than people think; for artist's oil colors, it can take years.

If the varnish under the oil paint takes less time than the paint to dry...which is highly likely...the oil paint on top will crack.
Yes you may carry on, it will stick definitely
Acrylic is water-based and will form a film on the canvas and may peel off after some time.

Oil paint applied over the acrylic paints may crack after drying over a period of time.
Yes definitely u can do any kind of experimentation. Don't hesitate just try on everything can be rectified.
