Can use enamal paint, paint over lacquer surfaces like hard varnish wood doors.?

You can; but you wil want to sand sand sand sand sand the door and fill in any scratches dents or dings to be sure you get a nice smooth surface to paint. I then suggest you use a foam roller to put the paint on. Also, thin the paint a bit with water and do a few coats to get a nice look. Can use enamal paint, paint over lacquer surfaces like hard varnish wood doors.?
yes you can, altho with old wood, wood from 400 year old pine or oak trees being pretty scarce,,,,,wood furniture getting expensive, you ought to consider preserving a natural finishCan use enamal paint, paint over lacquer surfaces like hard varnish wood doors.?
You would need to apply a primer first or better yet...sand the varnish off...Lowes sells a great primer...I used it on paneling then painted my favorite color WHITE... good luck
Only if you sand and prime first. Unfortunately laquers are hard to deal with due to their slick and hard surfaces. They were used back in the old days for their durability.

Some of the laquers are actually made out of the larve of bugs from African trees that is used to seal porus woods the natives used for boats and such for bouancy and rot protection.

The sealers are very hard to sand and you will invest some time into the project. I have found that even if you wash the varnished items, the old dirt and oils will bleed through the paint sealer. I ended up giving some of my doors close to 5-6 coats before the bleeding stopped.Try keeping things natural if possible.
Yeah you can, but enamel paint will chip off easily and not look that great. Might as well take the door down, get some organic stain remover (available just about anywhere) and clean off all the old varnish and finish. Re-stain it something darker (going lighter works too, but it is a lot harder to pull off).

Good luck
